This is an intensive block: three sessions on some Saturdays. Missing one session is ten percent of the course — if you have to miss one, come and talk to me.

Assignment 1 — Case study
A practical case study applying IT audit frameworks. Set in Session 4, due Fri 31 July, 17:00 — submit via the form on this page.
Assignment 2 — Project
Governance evaluation, audit procedures, or a digital forensic investigation. Set in Session 6, due Mon 11 August, 17:00 — submit via the form on this page.
Class participation
Marked on the quality of your contribution, not the quantity. Evidence beats opinion. Full band descriptors are in the grading scheme.
Final examination
Comprehensive across all ten sessions. It rewards applying what you know to a scenario, not reciting it.
Late work scores zero. This is Departmental policy and it isn't discretionary. The block is compressed — start early, and if something has gone wrong in your life, talk to me before the deadline, not after.

A note on the data pack. SankofaPay is a fictional mobile-money operator built for this course. The workbook holds real, messy data — payroll, transactions and cloud configuration. You'll audit the same company all term. Everything in it is invented; any resemblance to a real operator is coincidental.

Submit an assignment
Submissions go through the secure forms below — sign in with your Google account so your submission is timestamped to your name. Not by email, and not by any other route: a submission only counts once it's uploaded here.
Deadlines are firm. Each form closes at the stated time and late submissions score zero — the timestamp is the record, so don't leave it to the last minute (or the last bar of signal). Upload one PDF unless the brief says otherwise, named Surname_Assignment1.
Reading
Textbook & resources — all free
You don't need to buy anything. Our prescribed text is a free, openly-licensed textbook, and the supporting sources are freely published. These links open on the publishers' own sites.
Please don't use pirated copies. If you come across the commercial IT-audit textbooks as “free PDFs” on file-sharing sites, those are unauthorised. Everything you need for this course is genuinely free and linked above — and respecting intellectual property is part of the professional integrity we cover in Session 9.
